A new painting. "We all love our babies" A celebration of diversity and motherhood
I just completed this painting which is 14 x 21 inches. Watercolor and ink.
I think I will call it, "We all love our babies"
I was horrified as I watched the news story of the policeman kneeling on George Floyd's neck, and as I listened I could hear the words that this man died as a result. I was deeply moved and inspired as the world came together with one message. Black lives matter. These events influenced this painting.
I had actually sketched the women and babies several years ago, wanting to express the same thing. The incomplete painting was sitting in a pile of incomplete paintings, and I resurrected it. Now I felt that the world needed this painting so I finished it.
We all love our babies. no matter what color we are! How boring the world would be if we were all the same!
I am an expressionist, so the images here are from my mind.
This is just beautiful. I purchased some 6 of your cards and one 8×11 on dynamics some years ago, they are still held dear to my heart, I am so glad to see you still doing such beautiful works that make you ponder about life and all of it’s beauty and showing it’s challenges in such glorious ways.
Jazz
I love the colours, the beautiful rhythm of the movement and the message. I would love to hang this on my wall!
I love the painting
And the meaning behind it makes it even better
