A new painting. "We all love our babies" A celebration of diversity and motherhood
I was horrified as I watched the news story of the policeman kneeling on George Floyd's neck, and as I listened I could hear the words that this man died as a result. I was deeply moved and inspired as the world came together with one message. Black lives matter. These events influenced this painting.
And now with the horrific discovery of unmarked child graves in the residential schools in Canada, I want to express my support and alliance with the aboriginal peoples who have suffered the unbelievable destruction to their families at the hands of our ancestors with this beautiful painting.
I hope my comments are taken in the spirit in which they are given.
I had actually sketched the women and babies several years ago, wanting to express the same thing. The incomplete painting was sitting in a pile of incomplete paintings, and I resurrected it. Now I felt that the world needed this painting so I finished it.
We all love our babies. no matter what color we are! How boring the world would be if we were all the same!
I am an expressionist, so the images here are from my mind.
This is just beautiful. I purchased some 6 of your cards and one 8×11 on dynamics some years ago, they are still held dear to my heart, I am so glad to see you still doing such beautiful works that make you ponder about life and all of it’s beauty and showing it’s challenges in such glorious ways.
I love the colours, the beautiful rhythm of the movement and the message. I would love to hang this on my wall!
I love the painting
And the meaning behind it makes it even better
