Artists Statement

"Symphony in Scarlet is an abstract composition dominated by vibrant splashes and strokes of warm colors including reds, oranges, yellows, and hints of pink. Interspersed among these warm tones are touches of dark green accents that add contrast and depth.

The brushwork is energetic and loose, featuring a mixture of thick and thin lines that create a layered effect and an overall impression of lively, organic movement.

Measuring 40 x 30 inches, the painting’s soft, muted background allows the vivid hues in the central cluster to stand out prominently, evoking the sense of sunlight filtering through blooming petals.

Inspired by the nasturtiums I grew from seed for the first time this Spring, Symphony in Scarlet captures my elated feelings and radiates joyful energy through its organic upward movement."   Pamela Holl Hunt
